Hi guys!

I hope everyone is staying warm here in Michigan and for all of you readers in warmer climates…we are officially jealous! LOL  This sure has been a frigid winter this year! When I am able to be inside..all nice and cozy and watch the big beautiful snowflakes fall..then  I LOVE winter! But, venturing out into the winter wonderland…not so much! Well…I am changing that as I head to  CAPE TOWN SOUTH AFRICA  TOMORROW!  Yep…I can’t hardly believe it either! I never thought I would make my way to South Africa. I fancy myself as a Europe type of gal 😉 But…God opened doors and here I go!

Back story…My husband, Micah’s cousin, Ali is a missionary in Pemba Mozambique. She is traveling to Cape Town where she started her missionary work and it came about that I would meet her there. Our schedules seamlessly lined up and we are staying at a quaint little beach house in Simon’s Town, South Africa. I am still pinching myself! I have to say…many obstacles have gotten in the way of this trip. Many nights of me changing my mind about going. No big secret I am not an eager flyer. The total travel time is 31 hours. Yup..you heard that right.. 31 HOURS people! 19 of the hours spent in airplanes! Can you see how God is working on me already?

So…I will be back in the office on Feb. 10th. I will have some access to email and for all of my new brides and inquiring couples..feel free to reach out to me while I am gone. Please understand it might take me a bit longer to respond, but I am excited to work with all of you! My  2014 season is almost full and I am booking for 2015. Congratulations on all of you newly engaged couples!

Your prayers for safety are much appreciated! Also… for my sweet boys to cope without mama 😉 I 1/2 kid on that one..I am blessed to have my mother-in-law staying the first week and my mama helping the 2nd week!Thankful to my awesome hubby for making this trip happen too! He will be working hard for our family while I am enjoying time away.

This trip for me is all about connecting with God, adventures and time with my sweet cousin, Ali. I am excited to visit her church and the orphanage that she  used to work at. I do not have any big expectations, but I do know that the sunshine and stillness will be good for my soul. Cape Town looks amazing! I feel truly blessed.

Hi Everyone! Wow! What a year! I have so many weddings and shoots to share from last year and will hopefully be updating the blog soon! I hope everyone had a blessed holiday season and your new year is off to a great start! Mine sure is

Meet Emie and Lee. I met Emie has a sweet teenager who worked for her daddy who owned  Bostwick  Lake Inn. My husband, Micah, was a chef at BLI and we became close to their family. When Emie called to document her wedding day…I  knew it would be so fun to see everyone again! (ps. I photographed her sister’s wedding a couple of years ago) I love seeing old friends and it’s equally painful that I am really old enough to photograph her wedding!!! lol  She sure has grown into a beautiful young woman and I couldn’t be happier for her and Lee.

Their day was cold, yet beautiful. The wedding was right  before Christmas and held at Fredrick Meijer Gardens and The Cheney Place. I loved Emie’s details and she was most certainly a beautiful bride. Lee and Emie compliment each other so well and they love and laugh easily. I can’t wait for you to see a snippet of their day! I always have such a hard time narrowing down weddings. So many beautiful shots and also so much love and emotion! I hope you enjoy the ones I chose:)

Sweet Elaina and Josh are truly dream clients! These two sweeties live and love in San Francisco and we met the day of their wedding. I typically love to hold an engagement session prior to wedding day to connect with the couple..but, Josh and Elaina didn’t miss a beat. We hit it off right away. Elaina is as sweet as honey and her laugh is contagious. Josh is calm and quiet and the is smitten with his bride. Their families were warm and welcoming and the day was pure perfection. I truly adore my job…I have to say that all of my clients are simply the best. Blessed beyond measure is how I feel!

Josh and Elaina were married at the mountain top at The Homestead Resort in Glen Arbor, MI. I adore up north weddings and there is something magical about an outdoor wedding. The views were breathtaking and the love was obvious! You will see from the imagery how much fun we had and how this couple is truly adorable together!

Elaina and Josh…goodness gracious…where do I begin? Thank you for choosing me to be a part of your wedding day! I loved every minute of it and am beyond thrilled with what I captured for you! I hope to see you both again! Maybe I need to visit San Fran soon 😉
