Oh my stars! I can’t believe sweet little Knox is this big already! Do you remember him from the birth video?? It seems like just yesterday!

I always love catching up with Knox’s mama, Hillary and it was extra fun to snuggle sweet Knox at the studio! The little guy is sitting up and even rolled over at our shoot for the first time! Good thing I had my camera! 😉 Knox is such a calm baby and it is so obvious what a wonderful mama Hillary is! He loved gazing at her and loved when she would sing to him. It took me by surprise that Hillary sings him the song that I chose for the birth slideshow. Boy…that was special! And of course Knox loved it too!

Hillary and Kevin…I love that you trust me with your precious memories! I am honored to document your sweet baby and it is so fun to see your family grow! Knox is a joy! I love that you guys are in my life and appreciate you in so many ways! Much love to you! Enjoy the images!

Happy Sunday!

 

Is everyone enjoying a bit of sunshine that we have had in last few days? I know am! I was reflecting over the past week and I was just overwhelmed with how blessed I am with true friendships! I hope you all have those close girlfriends you can lean on when life gets tough or someone to Celebrate amazing things happen in your life!  I just love how God brings us the “right” friends at the right time. Yes…I have had friends who have hurt me, I have had friends who were in my life for a reason and just a season as the saying goes…but, ALL of them have shaped and molded me in some way. I LOVE that my true girlfriends do not care that my house is messy,  that I am not perfect, they can see past my flaws and love me anyway. They can genuinely see that I WANT to be better and strive to be loving, kind and generous. But, sometimes I fail miserably and fall flat on my face. I am thankful they pick me back up and love me more. I know I can call them and they will not just say what I might want to hear. They give me TRUTH even when it hurts. They support me and cheer me on without jealousy.  THEY WANT ME TO BE HAPPY.  Gosh…I could go on and on. Thankful today for each and every one of them. I have such unique friendships and each woman is special in her own way. Thanking God today for knowing who I needed and blessing me more than I deserve.

 

If you can…take a minute to pray for your girlfriends and do something sweet for them.  That could be kind word, a sweet text, a note mailed or a surprise visit with their favorite coffee;) I know I love surprises and it doesn’t have to be elborate! Thoughtfulness goes a long way!

 

Welp…enjoy your Sunday and I hope you remember that no matter your situation today…you are loved and all you have to do is look around to see your blessings:)

 

*you know how a song reminds you of someone or something? This song reminds me of my friend Kerri. We met through Facebook of all places and our lives look completely different than they did just 4 years ago. We have put in some hard work and  it’s soo awesome to see the fruits of our labor. Of course we could not do it alone. God brought us together and helped us more than we could have imagined. It’s so awesome to see! I hope to share more of our stories one day. Enjoy this song!

Hi Everyone! Happy 1st day of Spring! Here in MI we are all crying because there is snow everywhere and no sign of spring to be seen. Wah, Wah. But! WE can enjoy the sunshine and pretend it’s warm outside and crank the heat inside, right?! haha I am enjoying a cup of cocoa as I type and dream of warmer days ahead!

 

I came across this adorable outfit on pinterest and thought I would share. I would love to look this adorable everyday, but it’s just not going to happen. I think I might replace the heels with flats and then how cute would this be to grab lunch with your girlfriends or date with your sweetie? I LOVE green and I am working on these thin little legs too! 😉 Spin class has been kicking my butt, but I love seeing the results! I am going to treat myself to a little JCREW in the months ahead! Nothing crazy as we are choosing to spend our money wisely, but little rewards are always a great incentive:)

Ok…onto some things I am loving!

 

mint.com  Soo….I heard of this long ago, but my local bank was not associated with it. I called them up and they helped me get on board! This is FREE and such a great resource for tracking your spending! Was this ever an eye opener for me! Micah is certainly the saver and I am the spender! I am proud of myself for choosing to be more conscious of my spending and saving more! YAY! The biggest lesson I have learned is that I waste too much money on little things and that really adds up! Now I decide if it’s really worth it! It frees up more money for things that are really important to me! Win.Win.

Anything from this site! I Really want the cookbook, too! I am going to host a gathering like this this summer! Pinky Swear! It’s GOING to happen!

I just picked up this book today! I have heard nothing but great things and can’t wait to read it! If you have read it and want to share your thoughts…please do! I will also be checking back in after I read it:) There are soo many books on my list to read at the moment! *I should also add that I bought the audio version. I just remembered that! oops! I love to listen to books while I edit and my husband has a long commute so he gets to listen and drive so it works well for us!

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I am still recovering from a full day shoot with West MI Style Magazine for DeVries Jewelers on Friday(call time 8:30am 😉 , a fun and fabulous BASH with my favorite wedding industry friends and The Cheney Place in Grand Rapids hosted by Fancy Frey and my friends Ben and Mindy and then a busy Triplet shoot with a past wedding couple of mine, April and Brett (can’t believe it’s been 3 yrs!) and their sweeties, Finley, Liam and Camden! Whew. I need a day off soon:)

I will be sharing so much more from this shoot and the magazine shoot soon, but wanted the triplets mama and daddy to see a peek at their babes!

Hello, Everyone!

I hope you are all having a great week! Today as I sit in my office typing up this blog post…the sweet, glorious sun is shining (thank heavens) and I have spring on my mind!

This Michigan girl can’t wait for warmer temps and longer days of as much sun as I can get! Bring.It. On! 😉

With Spring comes opening up my calendar for sessions. I am not able to accomodate everyone’s requests for family, child and lifestyle sessions due to my wedding schedule so if you would like to book a session with me…let’s get you on the calendar now before I book up.

I can’t wait to see how much everyone’s sweet families have grown! They grow at record speed! My son is taller than me now (yes, I know it didn’t take much as I am 5’2) but still. Where did my baby go? So glad I documented so much! Precious memories for sure!
